HARRELL

Melissa

In case you don’t know her, Melissa Harrell would like to introduce herself.
A proud and beloved native of Baltimore, Maryland, Harrell is ordained
minister and a progressive, devout woman of faith to the Body of Christ.
Having acquired a majority of her education in Baltimore City Public School
system, Harrell is a proud alumna of Annapolis High school. Consequently,
she earned an undergraduate degree in 2002 from Baltimore’s Morgan State
University, a historically black higher education institution. Then in 2004, she
acquired Master’s Degree in Social Work from Widener University in nearby
Chester, Pennsylvania.

To her credit, Harrell has made immeasurable strides as a Licensed Clinical
Social Worker (LCSW-C), as well as an Associate Minister in her local church.
Married to Mr. Marvin Harrell, the couple has two “anointed and beautiful”
children: Adah and Malachi Harrell.

Interestingly enough, Harrell fully sold out to God when, on March 31, 2005,
she officially accepted her call to ministerial calling as a preacher of the
gospel. She is a current member of Walk By Faith Ministries. Consequently,
she earned a Master of Divinity in May 2015 from United Theological
Seminary.

A flourishing, thriving entrepreneur in her own right, Harrell a co-owner of
Extraordinary Woman of God, a Christian-based women’s ministry that was
established in 2014.

Also, Harrell has become a fixture in the mental health field sector, in large
because of her solid track record and valiant contributions as owner and
director of Transforming Lives Counseling Services (TLCS).

Moreover, Harrell’s entrepreneurial and ministerial resumes are such that she
is highly invested in teaching children and adults the importance of outreach,
particularly through social networking.

Harrell, in fact, has worked served in a variety of capacities in ministries, most
notably outreach, children’s, new members, trustee, and family life, among
other auxiliaries.

Equipped with what she appropriately describes as a “strong passion” for
outreaching, teaching, and encouraging others, Harrell’s favorite scripture is
Philippians 4:13, which reads: I can do all this through Him who gives me
strength.

In 2021, Harrell made her authorship debut, first after witnessing the release
of Poems From The Heart, then weeks later after becoming one of 62 co-
authors to collectively assemble Soulful Affirmations: 365 Days Of Positive
Thoughts And Lessons To Start Your Day.
